Are your thoughts blurring your vision?

We’ve all visited the optometrist when we were younger and lied a little during the test just so we could get glasses because we thought they’d looked cool and some of the other kids wore them… or maybe that was just me.

Fast forward a few years later and you found yourself back at the optometrist squinting through the test to see those symbols you have to identify by covering one eye, and it turned out your fate was sealed this time and you actually did need glasses but dreaded getting them; not because you couldn’t find a suitable frame, you just didn’t want to think of yourself as needing them.

Alas, here we are years later rocking them.

One of the first moments I enjoyed my glasses was one day in my high school accounting class. My seat was right in front. I was wearing my glasses and I happened to look up at the clock and realised I could see the numbers. My eyes had probably gazed at the clock before but I never realised until that day how much I did need glasses.

I’m not blind as a bat but c’mon… the front of the class and I couldn’t see the numbers on the clock? Seriously?

This moment really gave me a sense of amazement and complete surprise. How long had I been looking at things that were right in front of me without fully realising their potential or beauty.

Often we are blinded  without our knowledge and all it take is a simple alteration to our thoughts or preconceived ideas to view something in a completely different light. I’m not saying go and get a pair of glasses (unless you need them) but how about wearing glasses on your mind? It will do wonders for your vision.
